Who’s always wanted to spend the night in a Luxury Treehouse?

Who's always wanted to spend the night in a Luxury Treehouse?

A little background before I get to the super cool treehouse and pod – back in 2015 I met Chip & Crystale Leavy. Chip accepted an engineering job at a local manufacturing plant and I was their Realtor. Of course we found them a great house and they settled in.

Chip had another dream of buying some acreage and building a treehouse AirBNB.

We hiked many large tracts of land (40-120 acres) looking for the right one. We’d get the bug spray, walking stick, mace, and tuck our pant cuffs in our socks to keep the ticks out – it was quite a sight. Ironically this tract backed up to a house I had listed, it wasn’t as large as he wanted but it checked off enough boxes to work for them.

So in 2017, we closed on this 11 acres.

I watched them clear and prepare the land on Facebook and Instagram. Crystale is a Rockstar machine operator! It took them 3 years to build the house. They did the work themselves, from placing huge I-beams (with equipment), to laying tile, to the twinkle lights in the main treehouse bedroom ceiling, and the swinging bridge between the main treehouse and guest pod, this has been a labor of love and a dream fulfilled. The place is magical.

Now onto the super cool Luxury Treehouse they call “The Greenbrier Beechhouse”.

Pull off Morton Road onto the gravel drive, follow it back into the forest and back to your childhood fantasy of living like the Swiss Family Robinson.

There is a 40′ tall swing – the long smooth glide is amazing. Visit the Hen House for your Farm Fresh Eggs (coming this spring).

Walk up the wheelchair accessible ramp to the large deck overlooking the woods from 16′ up in the air.

When you enter the main house, you’re greeted by a 17′ cedar tree which is the home of the resident gnome. There is soooo much to see while you’re there – from the living room you can watch the fire in the fireplace or the birds at the feeder and wildlife outside the window.

Some of the trees that were removed to build this retreat are incorporated into the space.

The main house is 1 bedroom with a sleeper sofa and will sleep 4 guests. The guest pod sleeps 2. The main house is wheelchair accessible.

There are so many neat features you’ll need to check their website to see them all. There are lots more pictures too 😉
